Applaws Moist Food Review
Here's
an interesting product. As they say 'Applaws is really different, It contains
only natural ingredients, It has 75% meat content! It is completely additive
free.'
If you look at the ingredients that are used, and indeed if you open a tin and smell the contents it actually smells appetizing!
So for ingredients you cannot really fault the product. It is expensive of course, but then you have to compare the costs by taking into consideration what's actually in the tin. There's no doubt that the product is also quite palatable.
But it is NOT a complete food, although the website does not point this out. I asked the distributor of these foods in the UK the following question:
("Could you tell me please whether Applaws
cat food is classed as a complete food?
I note that it does not contain a standard vitamin and mineral mix, so can
you assure me that if I feed this as the sole food for my cat that she will
not develop a deficiency of vitamins or minerals?")
The response was interesting: "Many thanks
for your email, unfortunatly Applaws is not a complete food, the reason it
does not state the standard vitamins and minerals is because there is nothing
at all added to the food, the varieties all have their own natural vitamins
and minerals.
We do recommend you vary a cats diet, especially as this is not a complete
food."
