Pro Plan Dog Food Review
In
December 2001, Nestlé S. A. completed the acquisition of the Ralston
Purina Company and began the process of integrating their Friskies Petcare
business with Ralston Purina to create a VERY BIG petcare company. Before
that, Purina had for many years been big in soya concentrate production. They
have been making pet food for some years and obviously know a thing or two
about it, as they are very successful at what they do!
In addition to Purina Veterinary Diets range, which is only available through veterinary practices, Nestle Purina manufacture PRO PLAN, Bakers, Beta, Bakers, Felix, Go-Cat, Purina ONE, Winalot, and many other well-known brands.
Recipes have changed over the years, and these days reflect the current trend for a more natural food. Looking at a typical adult food from the range, the only comment we would make is that for some pet owners the protein content is rather high for anything other than a very active dog. Compare this with the 18 - 22% of many other comparable brands and you can perhaps see what we mean.
